Does the idea of buying in bulk bring up images of preppers with bunkers and middle-aged women with stock rooms? Bulk buying should not be considered taboo.

I have dabbled in prepping my home for natural and apocalyptic situations and I loved it! Knowing that we had what we needed eased my anxiety of being unprepared. I get this from my dad. We both are drawn to the ideas of bulk buying so we aren’t rushing when disasters happen.

This mentality isn’t for everyone though. Some people are just getting by on their budgets and can’t put money aside for prepping, let alone buying in bulk in general. I want to tell everyone right now, YOU CAN SAVE MONEY BY BUYING IN BULK! And also impress all your friends by the number of extras you have in your house 😛

What you should be buying in bulk:

  1. Toilet Paper! This one sounds a little odd to be buying online but it makes sense. When in the store, you don’t feel the toilet paper and you usually buy the same brand. Sometimes buying in a store can be cheaper, but watch the deals online! You don’t have to buy 60 rolls right away if your budget doesn’t allow. For my paper stash, we get regular sized packages (we switch brands to whatever is on sale) and put 2 rolls away in our storage room. After a while, it builds up.
    1. Charmin Ultra Soft Toilet Paper, 24 Count
  2. Feminine Products! The perfect product for buying in bulk since you always need them and they never expire. This one you can also find in stores but the stores around me rarely put them on a good deal. A bonus for buying these online though, is you get a wider variety of brands. Some are organic, for sensitive skin, biodegradable, you can really take your pick.
    1. Stayfree Ultra Thin Pads with Wings, 48 Pack of Pads
    2. Playtex Unscented Tampons, Pack of 72
  3. Laundry Detergent! I have recently made the switch to laundry pods. I find I don’t use as much soap on my clothes and they give a very nice scent that lasts. I haven’t done the conversion rate on if I save money by switching but you can always find pods on sale. Depending on how often you wash clothes, you may not have to fully stock this up but having an extra pack is always safe.
    1. Tide PODS Laundry Detergent Pacs, 72 Count Tub
  4. Baby Products! As new parents, you can only imagine the horror of running out of something and having to run to the store to get it. Before the baby comes, parents can start collecting a store pile of products to help ease the transition of a couple to a family.
    1. Playtex Diaper Genie System Refills, 1 Year Supply (9-Pack)
